Children & Young People

Advice, Information and Guidance - For Young People at 'Sussed' in Kinson and '507' in Boscombe

Autism Wessex - Information, advice and support on a range of autism related topics

Children's Centres - offer a range of universal and targeted services to families with children unborn to five years

Diverse Abilities - Dorset disability charity providing a range of services for children, young people and their families.

Employability Skills - For Young People 

STARS (Sexual Trauma and Recovery Service) - For both young people and adults: Independant Sexual Violence Advisor; Counselling, Helpline 

Substance Misuse - For services provided and contact details of - Addaction, Specialist Services for Young People, and Bournemouth Engagement & Assessment Team (BEAT), single point of access for Adults

Young Carers Project - Support for Children and Young People (aged 5-18) who are identified as Young Carers.


Counselling & Therapy

Bereavement - Mosaic Family Support  (other support)

Counselling Service (Redlands Community) - the service is provided on an affordable contributions basis to those on a low income

Counselling & other services - Listening Ear

Dorpip (Dorset Parent Infant Partnership) - provide specialist therapy for families struggling to form safe, secure relationships with their infants from conception to age two. 

Kooth - free online counselling and emotional well-being platform for children and young people, accessible through mobile, tablet and desktop.



Citizens Advice BCP - Advice on a range of subjects including: debt, housing, relationships, legal, benefits

DAD Info - Advice and support website for fathers, because DADS matter

Debt Advice and Support - Faithworks Wessex

Happy Families, Happy Futures - A programme for Reducing Parental Conflict (see also training available and Flyer for parents)

Parenting Programmes - Including Triple P, Who's in Charge, , Incredible Years, Parenting Puzzle

Private Fostering in the new BCP Council

Relate - Relationship counselling, family mediation and more

Safe Families for Children - (Referrals must be made through ART Brokerage). Staffed by volunteers who can provide tailored help and ‘wraparound’ care in the family home


Domestic Abuse

Domestic Abuse Advice - Instant safety advice for victims via Dorset Police

Domestic violence Recovery Toolkit - Children and Adult programmes 

Men's Advice Line (Respect) - for Male victims of Domestic Abuse



Recovery Education Centre - provides education and training for over 18's affected by mental health problems, focusing on self-management, self-determination, choice and responsibility

Steps to Wellbeing - free, confidential, NHS service for people aged 18+ offering a range of treatments for people experiencing problems with low mood/depression, anxiety, stress or other common mental health problems



BCHA - A range of services for young people and adults centred around Sheltered Housing, Employability & Skills

Housing/Homelessness - See for services provided and contact details

Shelter helps people struggling with bad housing or homelessness through advice, support and legal services to support appeals
