For expectant parents and those with children under the age of five
This function is mainly provided by Early Years professionals and Health staff aligned with our Childrens Centres located throughout the borough.
In addition to the issues that can affect any family, staff are specifically trained and experienced in understanding concerns that parent/carers with young children may experience, and offer a range of Universal and Targeted Family Support services.
For further information on Childrens Centre's and contact details go to: Children's Centres
For Young People
This function is mainly provided by Youth Work professionals in the community, or at one of the Specialist Youth Advice, Projects or Centres based across the Borough.
This support is specifically to help young people overcome barriers which are preventing them participating in education, employment or training.

For the Whole Family
A small team of Family Support professionals are able to provide a dedicated worker to the whole family. They will deliver practical support, focusing on individuals’ strengths and identifying theirs and the collective needs of the family.
They aim to proactively seek and respond to the voice of the child and act as their advocate. They will deliver a persistent, assertive and challenging approach to the family, to ensure there is common purpose and agreed action.
Their involvement with a family can last up to eighteen months so access to this teams resources are limited. Cases are strictly allocated via the Multi-Agency Mettings.
